the very fact that he is able to file for custody of a 17 year old who wants nothing to do with him & refuses to even call him on the phone, or his grandmother when said child ran off with me when i left (mom, please don’t leave without me) is completely messed up.
after fighting for 4 months to get & retain the home we have , i am now losing it over the technicality that he is taking every bit of benefit kiddo is supposed to get & not giving us a penny (cash assistance) or crumb (food benefits) of it. i therefore can no longer afford rent so we will be homeless for Christmas. i’m going to have to give notice (sorry can’t be the 30 days i’d like to give…) that we’re moving out before december 1st. He also claims i owe him spousal support since leaving him… when he has forced me to be unable to work via getting himself fired & other silly excuses for 16 years & attempted to force me to comply to his every demand while alienated from my family & mostly denied friends… he has been the sole bread winner for 16 years… i owe him nothing because the darn choice was stolen from me. my hands were proverbially tied so that i could not work at all.
i’m going to fight it, but i can’t save our home. it’s too late for it.
the world is a dark place when an abuser can file for custody without the victim & kids ever even having the chance to present our side. He has no rights to those benefits, kiddo is not getting food/things he needs.
He is trying to force kiddo to go back to him or for us to have to give him our location in order to “let kiddo get those benefits”… where is the justice? where is the fairness of it?
well i’m not going to let him do this to us. i will give him the court war he wants. i will make sure he can’t hurt us using legal courts to abuse us & get to us…
this entire ordeal is BS… he should not be able to do this.
DSS has done nothing but screw up this case… i’ve been let down by the system that claims to protect abuse victims/survivors… mostly because i have no police reports & he has not threatened to kill us… wake up people: this does not mean there was no abuse. He is hurting us legally, abusing the system to do it, too. He has held my immigration paperwork & my son over my head & is now holding benefits he has no right to get over our heads…
when is enough enough???? because my son & i are trying to move on, move forward & get our life back but he is allowed to legally harass us & steal our home right from under our feet… legally…
tell me where this isn’t a joke at the victim(s)’ expanse???
